Friday, 2011 April 08: To The Kalamas

The discussion on Friday 2011 April 08, 7pm – 8:50pm, will be facilitated by Steve

The Kalama Sutta ( “To The Kalamas” ) will be discussed.

In the Kalama Sutta the Buddha arrives in the town of the Kalamas who explain to him that they have been visited by many religious teachers who were only interested in promoting their own views and disparaging the teachings of others. They ask the Buddha for advice on how to tell which teachings are true and which are not.

On the “Access To Insight” site: The Kalama Sutta

Copies of the Kalama Sutta will be provided by Steve. If you have not attended a discussion before you may want to print out your own copy or inform the group of your attendance ahead of time.
