Meditation(s) from the Satipatthana Sutta

The session on Friday 7:00 – 8:50pm 2012 January 27th, will focus on the mindfulness meditation practices that the Buddha described as “The direct path for the realization of nibbana”. The session will be led by Madison.

From Madison:

Since there has been an interest expressed in how (especially) the meditation teachings described in the Suttas are actually implemented, the focus of this session will be on how to do the Satipatthana Sutta’s meditation practice(s) in our daily life and/or retreat life.

Needed materials will be provided, but feel free to bring a copy of (your favorite version of) the Satipatthana Sutta. (or Words (p 281-290), or Wings (p 84-90))

For your pre-session reading pleasure you might look at:

both Suttas include Investigation in the 7 Factors of Awakening. The Brief teachings might be mentioned as in Bahiya, Uttiya, Sallekha (Cunda), etc.
