Papañca, Tendency of the Mind to Proliferate Issues

Next discussion:  Friday 2012 December 14 7:00 PM – 8:45 PM

Brandi led a discussion on papañca (the tendency of the mind to proliferate issues from the sense of “self”) on NOV 9. Because of the importance and usefulness of this subject, the attendees asked her to recap and continue this discussion.

Please see Brandi’s Word document. In it, the monk, Thanissaro Bhikku, illuminates how this process of “Objectification” keeps one locked in internal and external conflict and, thus, suffering.  He also demonstrates how this objectification might be skillfully used on the path. Could you please print, read and bring the document to our meeting?
