Foundation for Calm, Concentration, Insight on Cushion and in World

The Washington D.C. Buddhist Studies Group will hold its bi-weekly meeting FRI, JUNE 14, 7 – 8:40 PM.

For those who did not participate in previous sessions, key concepts will be reviewed.

Then the series — on “Developing the Moral Foundation for Calm, Concentration and Insight on the Cushion and in the World” — will be concluded.

The goals are to help you:

  • Understand the relationships between the Four Noble Truths, Eightfold Path, Generosity and the (Moral) Precepts for lay followers.
  • Explore questions such as — Why? Are these realistic? Are they relevant today, burdensome, liberating? Do they work?
  • Decide best approach for you to create a “living, breathing practice in the here and now.”

Hardcopies will be provided.

For those who want to (and are able to) practice generosity (Dana), a collection is taken about three times per year for the Vihara.

One will be taken at this session.

Please join us!

Our group’s goal — To support and enhance participants’ practice and knowledge of Buddhism.
