Discussion: Video: Ajahn Brahmali On The Satipatthana Sutta

The next discussion will be led by Jim on Friday 7:00 PM – 8:45 PM 2012 May 11

From Jim:

Andrew will start the meeting, and using the new audio/visual technology, work with us on chanting and Pali.

We will then watch to a talk by Ajahn Brahmali.

The topic of the talk is Middle Length Discourses Number 10, the Satipatthana Sutta, sometimes called the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. The Four Foundations of Mindfulness is one of the seven things in which the Buddha said we should train.   Please print and bring a copy.

After this you will be able to:

  • Name the Four Foundations.
  • Decide which one or ones you want to emphasize in your current practice.
  • Experience the support these give to your mindfulness, both in meditation and everyday life.

You may want to watch the video of the talk before the discussion
